I think we’ve spent too long looking at beauty through the wrong lens. We’ve been told it’s about “secrets” hidden in palaces or complicated formulas born in sterile labs. But a few years ago, while traveling through tribal villages, I realised we were looking in the wrong direction.
I spent time with people who don’t see the forest as a resource to be used, but as a living, breathing part of themselves. I watched how they lived — not apart from nature, but tucked inside it.
There, I saw skin that didn’t just look good — it looked resilient. It had a vitality that didn’t come from a jar, but from a relationship with the soil.
I remember sitting with the women as they gathered Mahua seeds. To the rest of the world, it’s just a wild flower. To them, it’s a butter that heals everything the wind breaks. They showed me the Palash bloom — the “Flame of the Forest” — and how it guards the skin against the sun. They spoke of Manjistha and Jatamansi not as “ingredients,” but as old friends who knew how to bring the body back to balance.
It was a quiet, profound wisdom. Not about "anti-aging" or fixing "flaws." It was about the simple truth that the earth already offers everything we need — nourishment, protection, healing. We've just forgotten how to see it.
That's why Kshitii exists.
I didn't want to build another brand that sold a fantasy. I wanted to build a bridge — to take those forgotten ingredients, the ones that have survived the wild for millennia, and bring them into our modern, hurried lives without losing their soul.
We've kept it simple. We've kept it raw. We've focused on the functional power of the forest, delivered with the efficiency we need today.
At the end of the day, Kshitii is just a return. A return to the roots we walked away from, and a reminder that the most powerful thing you can put on your skin is the truth of the earth.
